First Friday

What is in the news today? An AIDS vaccine that "protects people and shocks researchers" sounds too good to believe. Maybe not, since it also sounds like it's discovery was/is an accident. Also in the news, what's this G20 stuff? G7 and G8? Is there a organizational flow chart for this? I am unclear about which countries go into each G, and what is the significance of each G? Is there anybody out there who knows these things?

There is a matter of interest in the news about Mexico. You remember last night I mentioned Mexico? Spanish immersion, remember? I just read on Reuter's of a city in Mexico considered the most violent city in the world. Ciudad Juarez. Hope it's not a border city? Well it is. It's El Paso's "sister city." What I want to know is: what about the rest of the country? Is this city the only one of it's kind in Mexico? What about the quaint little towns that attract retirees? Which towns are those?

No classes today. I am happy about that. This week was busy, and exhausting. It must be true that college students lack sleep, and I have some catching up to do. What's next on the assignment agenda? For my entrepreneurship class, chapter 6 quiz, complete pro forma spreadsheet by Thursday, 10/01. English quiz on chapter 3, also due Thursday. I also have to start, and finish my term paper for PR Case class. My topic is PR and anti-corporate activism. It is interesting to me and I hope I can find interesting information and relevant sources.

Thursday, after all that school work is done, I am off to Houston to pick up my new Audi. I have been without a car for about 6 weeks, it'll be nice to have my own transportation again. Later today I am searching for PR jobs in the travel industry, I'm hoping to conduct a thorough search online. I'll let you know what happens. You know, I am the media relations director for my PR campaign class project and I know nothing about media relation. Eventually, and soon, I will have to know more, I'll consider it a crash course.
